6.0   MARKETING PLAN (START AT TOP OF PAGE)

6.1              Marketing Plan Overview

BE SURE THAT YOU HAVE DISCUSSED THE 4 P’s IN YOUR PLAN BY THE END OF SECTION 6.0.

The product, price and place are likely to have already been discussed earlier in the plan.

In this section, focus on the promotion efforts.  You should be able to explain to readers how you will market your product to your identified target market(s).  You may choose to break this up into phases (i.e. pre-startup, at startup, ongoing marketing activities once you are established).

6.2       Phase 1 Marketing Efforts

Describe what you will do to reach the target market(s) that you discussed in Section 4.0.

Be sure to discuss budget and how long you will maintain your initial efforts.

Talk about your budget for this.

6.3       Phase 2 Marketing Efforts

As you grow and become better know what will you do to grow the firm.  Again discuss your budget and how long you continue doing what you will do to market.

Talk about your budget for this.

Phase 1 will be when you first get started – it is often the case that you should spend more to make people aware of the business.  After the initial marketing push, there is more of regular and less expensive ongoing marketing campaign.

You may have 3 phases or more.  Also, you could choose to break this down by market segment and not in phases.  It does not matter to me – make it clear for yourself and for your reader.
