BIO SKETCH Robert Singh is an Associate Professor of Management at Morgan State University in Baltimore, Maryland. Dr. Singh completed his Ph.D. at the University of Illinois at Chicago (UIC), his MBA at Illinois Institute of Technology in Chicago, and his undergraduate degree at the University of Virginia in mechanical engineering. His doctoral dissertation examined the role entrepreneurs' social networks play in the opportunity recognition process.
Dr. Singh has published several books and book chapters and his papers have appeared in the
Academy of Management Review, Entrepreneurship Theory and Practice, Journal of Developmental
Entrepreneurship, Journal of Entrepreneurship Education, Review of Black Political Economy, Decision,
New England Journal of Entrepreneurship, Journal of Education for Business, Journal of Internet Commerce,
Research at the Marketing/Entrepreneurship Interface, Human Resource Management Journal,Academy
of Management Meeting Best Paper Proceedings, Frontiers of Entrepreneurship Research, and
Human Resource Planning. He has also presented papers at the Academy of Management
Annual Meeting, Babson College-Kauffman Foundation Entrepreneurship Research Conference,
the U.S. Association for Small Business and Entrepreneurship Conference, the UIC/AMA Symposium
on Marketing and Entrepreneurship, the Midwest Academy of Management Meeting, and the Collegiate
Entrepreneurs Organization Conference.
