One of the primary goals of the CES is to reach out to the Baltimore business community and provide
assistance through the expertise of our faculty. The Earl G. Graves School of Business
has a great team of faculty with a variety of expertise areas. Our faculty has assisted and mentored a number
of entrepreneurs and business owners through a variety of issues including the development of business plans,
firm valuation, marketing, and other strategic management issues.Whether you are thinking about starting up a
business or you are a business owner that needs assistance to grow your business, the CES may be able to help you.
The CES is also proud to work with our partners at the following agencies/entities:
- Small Business Resource Center (SBRC) of Baltimore - The SBRC provides a
wealth of information about many subjects that affect small businesses, from planning and financing to marketing and
insurance. The Center has a large business library, plus PC-based internet access to magazines and newspapers nationwide.
There are videos and cassettes as well as literature and self-help guides that entrepreneurs can find useful.
At the SBRC, entrepreneurs can learn more about starting a business, preparing a business plan, getting credit,
business taxes and regulatory responsibilities, networking, and much more.
- Maryland Technology Development Corporation (TEDCO) - CES team
members are working on the Maryland Technology Partnership for Innovation (MTPI) project. MTPI is made up of 29 academic
institutions, state and local governments, and private companies. MTPI's vision is to facilitate the transformation of
knowledge into innovations that will create new wealth and strengthen local economies in Maryland's economically
distressed communities, by planning and implementing a model that utilizes technology transfer, business incubation,
and education and workforce development to leverage the resources of the federal laboratory system.
- Greater Baltimore Technology Council (GBTC) - The GBTC is devoted to
one goal: growing the region's tech community. They work with local tech companies to help address needs in order to
help them grow. GBTC creates forums where organizations can meet, learn and do business. In addition, they promote
successful firms and spread the word that technology businesses thrive in Baltimore. CES faculty are a resource that is
available to Council members and Morgan State students participate in the annual
Mosh Pit Competition.
